Majority of the world’s web surfers uses 1024×768, according to OneStat. I am among the modest people, using a 1024×768 as well.

Since the map on Google Maps resize to fit the browser, most of the time I can only view a 1000×500 pixels map - 63% of the screen. That’s more than enough for a lot of time, but I want more, I want a bigger map!(I am not that greedy, though) This is why I created P2K*P2K(2000 pixels times 2000 pixels, maybe call it Googlified Maps or whatever you like).

With P2K*P2K, you can create (up to) 2000*2000px high resolution maps, and they are download-able in GIF format. :D All you need is type in the latitude, longitude of the location, choose the size and zoom level. Lightning fast.

You can visit P2K*P2K on this page. According to Google Maps’ TOS, “For individual users, Google Maps, including local search results, maps, and photographic imagery, is made available for your personal, non-commercial use only“. So feel free to use under these terms.[note: I am not a lawyer]
