Google Reader Does Video

This doesn’t not happen often, but yesterday I saw a working* YouTube player in Google Reader - that means you can play YouTube videos in Google Reader like on any other web pages, just the video player would be on top of everything else. In contrast, the MP3 player would be at the very bottom of a post.
Google Reader have gotten a lot better, especially the big update in September, for which it received a lot of attentions. Playing videos on Google Reader would be nice, hope that they would fully adopt this new feature soon. :)
*Sometimes Google Reader tells you to download a FLV file and sometimes displays a video player but the movie won’t load in Google Reader.

the youtube player is embedded in html code, is not a “player” in reader.

I don’t understand what you are saying but YouTube player is a flash video player that plays FLV files.

What are you talking about? Youtube has always played alright in Google reader. At least in Firefox it has, not sure about IE.

I can play Google Videos in Google Reader since a while.
However, I don’t remember watched a *Youtube* video in Google Reader.

Perhaps I have had a limited experience with YouTube videos, but I have noticed through my own use that the player has only shown up with BoingBoing. Whenever I publish a video from Youtube on my blog, and wait for it to show it in my feed, the video never shows.
Obviously, whatever Google is currently doing is hit or miss.

Hmm, Google is doing something quirky with the Google Reader, I have never been able to watch YouTube videos on Google Reader since I first use it, that’s like way way back that I can’t remember when… Google Video never seem to be working for me.

I have the same problem, i tried getting the youtube embedded video’s on my WordPress blog to show up in Google Reader, but I failed. I tried by adding the enclosure, but the url youtube gives you doesn’t look like an .flv file, so I guess that’s why it doesn’t work.
Anyway, youtube embedded video is not working in google reader for me.
