YouTube to Implement Content Filtering Technology
Google October 16th, 2006 - By Haochi
When Google announced their acqusition with YouTube, someone(can’t remember who) said that they are buying lawsuits. Now, SFGate reports[via GoogleOS] that YouTube is developing a technology that will allow copyright-owners to identify their contents, locate them, and decide whether to remove them or not, YouTube itself, will not filtering the videos however.
Here are some side notes you might be interesting in: 1) YouTube has licensing deals with CBS Corp., Warner Music Group, Vivendi’s Universal Music Group and Sony BMG Music Entertainment. 2) Google bought Neven Vision, a company that’s holding several patents in facial recognition technology in August.
