Get Your Own Google Domain
Google April 5th, 2007 - By HaochiA reader inform me today that Google has been working on a secret project that uses my first name as the codename - Google Haochi. The page currently shows a normal Google Home Page, no further detail is known about this project.
Psych, you can actually change “haochi” in the URL to anything you like, as long as it’s shorter than 63 character.

According to Google IME, the top suggestions for ‘hao chi’ would be 好吃 and 好詞 which means ‘delicious’ and ‘good poem’. Something to do with academics or recreation suggestion?

I posted last night on Tony’s blog that it’s not the first time you can do that with a google subdomain. Look at “qos.google.com“, disabled now, but it worked aswell ;)

It was used as a test domain for Google Spreadsheets, just as you can use *.spreadsheets.google.com (which now all redirect to docs.google.com instead).
