Google to Acquire GrandCentral?

TechCrunch reports that Google has acquired GrandCentral, an online phone management service with a lot of cool features.
- Check your messages by phone, email, or online
- Keep all your messages online for eternity
- Quickly (and secretly) block an annoying caller
- Surprise your callers with a custom voicemail greeting
- Turn your MP3s into the ring tones your callers hear
The GrandCentral Blog says that they have redesigned their home page on June 23rd, so I do believe that there’s something going on. Plus, TechCrunch is pretty reliable on these matters. :)

the web says they give you a new number, and you link you current phone and mobil number to it. What about the price of calls to that number?, i don’t think i want a new number just to get the features of this service, i don’t know how it works and don’t know how google will change it. Just another service from usa, i don’t think google can ke it work for the rest of the world, but it would be nice at least to receive email messages to my mobile number for free.

Well, they don’t give you a new number, rather, you will get a number with your own, free EXTENSION… (1234567 ext.890)
Google probably just want to keep up with my hypothesis lol. :)

They do (did, at least) give you a local number, not an extension.
Privacy issues suggest that GrandCentral may not be such a good idea anymore.

Okay, I think they did… I probably got confused with the PIN and the extension.. LOL. :)
