Preview YouTube’s New Design
YouTube October 25th, 2007 - By HaochiThe YouTube Blog says that they are going to redesign the video browsing pages on the site, and they allow us to preview the new design and invite you to share your feedbacks with them before it goes live, which would be very soon.
It looks pretty good in the above screen shot, but when I land on that page, the first thing that came across my mind was “WTF” (my opinion, of course). No kidding.
Here’s my two cents:
- No red! (I personally prefer blue)
- No mouseover navigation menus, they are distracting and annoying, especially when there’s one above the input fields and buttons
- Move up the login box a little bit, would you might?
Actually, I think that their blog has the best looking pages on the site.

I think it looks pretty cool … Red is so more … lively … though I agree with Haochi that the roll overs are a bit messy … they can refine it a bit

Not a huge fan of the red.

I agree, that the layout of the blog is a lot better. Why does the header and the links for Home, Videos, Channels and Community be so extremely large. Do they design for a 10 feet display or a pc screen. A bit larger than in the blog but otherwise the same layout as the blog would be awesome.
As for the red - i like red. Because of the Black/Red logo it makes more sence if it is red.
Stupid question but: Where is the “Powered by Google” text in the preview version?! no more Google search in next YouTube?

I’m not too bothered by the red - it’s not nice, but it’s not too bad
I find having things jump out at me, though, is just annoying
Here’s hoping they don’t keep the popup menus in *crosses fingers*
