The Pentagon as a Circle
Google February 12th, 2007 - By HaochiPaulo of Metroblogging DC accidentally found that Google mistakenly labeled White House as the Pentagon when you enter “Pentagon, DC 20050” for search.
Paulo jokes about it, “If you look closely, Google Maps has a big balloon saying “PENTAGON” pointed squarely at The Ellipse. So yeah, close, but no cigar — I give Google Maps a C+ for Geography and a D- for Geometry.”

I give you an F for failing to report this error to Google.

It’s important to note that a search for “The Pentagon, DC 20050” takes you to the correct location. I think that Google doesn’t understand “Pentagon,” but it does understand “The Pentagon,” so when you do a search for “Pentagon, DC 20050,” it simply uses “DC 20050″ and places you in the middle of DC.
