Vote: Doodle 4 Google Australia
Doodle October 26th, 2007 - By HaochiNow you can vote for your favorite Google doodle from the Doodle 4 Google Australia* competition to be shown on Google Australia’s home page on Australia Day 2008.
We received thousands of entries, from which our expert judging panel had the challenging job of selecting the top 32, one from each age group in the eight states and territories.
Not sure if you need to be in Australia to vote, but I voted anyways. :)
*I think their post’s title is “Vote 4 Your favourite doodle!”, not “Vote 1 …”. You know, the 1 and 4 are really close to each other on the number pad. :p [thanks Zhasper for correcting. :)]

No, “Vote 1″ is correct. We use a preferential system in our elections here: “1″ is what you write in the box to indicate your first preference, “2″ is second preference.
As a result, around election time, there are lots of “Vote 1 Jim Watson” type posters around. “Vote 1″ has become an Australian meme meaning…. well, something similar to “… For President!” in the US, I guess, although more generic.
