youtube video award 2007

The annual YouTube Video Awards is now back (well, second year)! They will be given out 12 awards this year, including last year’s Most Creative, Most Inspirational, Most Adorable, Best Comedy, Best Commentary, Best Series, and Best Music Video, in addition to the new awards to Short Films, Sports, Politics, Instructional, and Eyewitness. However, each category now has 6 nominees instead of 10.

You can start voting today here and “can vote once per day” (”Vote early and vote often.” - not cool) till March 19, 2008. Winners will be announced two days later on March 21.

Now go and vote, every vote counts (but not every vote is legitimate).

Google Apps Premier Edition was named the No.1 product of the year by PC World. Google Apps’ Product Marketing Manager Jeremy Milo said on the Official Google Blog that “more than 100,000 organizations large and small” are using “Google Apps“.

I bet majority of them are using the free version. :)

Other Google properties on the list are Gmail (31), YouTube (34), Picasa (36) and Google Maps for Mobile (53).

Google, the Second Most Innovative Company

Award

google the second most innovative company

Google is named the 2nd most innovative company by Business Week - for the second year in a row, after Apple.

Its famously chaotic product development process, in which engineers spend 20% of their time on projects of their choosing, has plunged the search giant into everything from radio ads to online office software.

Apple this year beats runner-up Google with twice as much votes. You can read more about the Most Innovative Companies here.

Google No.1 on the Wired 40 List

Award

wired 40 google no.1

Google once again made to the Wired 40 list as the No.1 company of the “most Wired companies in the world“.

The masters of the universe are busily converting ad dollars into a global network of fiber lines and data centers. A plan etary computer crunching ever- larger mountains of bits is an invention of historic import. Google’s power to inspire both awe and fear continues to grow.

Google has been on the list as the No.1 company for numerous times. This is perhaps the 4th time since 2000 (2004 was defeated by Apple’s iPod wave).

See Wired.com for more about the Wired 40 list.
