Google NY Office Python Found

Horror

This is an update for “Python in Google Office” posted yesterday.

python found

The Official Google Blog posted about the Python Missing Incident after the python was found hiding “behind a cabinet”. NYooglers (New York Googlers) cautiously react to the incident, fearing themselves be the victim of April Fools’ Day.

Monday, April 2nd, 10:45 PM, we receive another Facilities Manager email: “After consultations with a herpetology expert at the American Museum of Natural History, our team of Google security and concerned volunteers located Kaiser relaxing behind a cabinet earlier this evening, and he was returned safely home with his owner.” So, it all ended happily, and Kaiser is now at his owner’s home to stay.

Subject: [Everyone-ny] Pet Snake Missing in NYC office

Dear Googlers:

The timing of this email could not be more awkward. Over the weekend, a pet snake belonging to a Googler was released from its cage in a 4th floor cubicle near the Tech Stop. The snake is a 3-foot long, brown and grey ball python named Kaiser. Ball pythons are nonvenomous and are commonly kept as pets. …

Tempting as it might be, this is not an April Fool’s joke!

[quote from ValleyWag's Python on the loose at Google]

I am quite certain it is not an April Fool’s Joke (from Google), since it’s currently April the 2nd in New York. Even snakes got a sense of humor on April Fools’ Day.

Hopefully it will be found soon.

UPDATE: The snake man - ValleyWag “track down” the owner of the snake, hmm, he looks a little familiar…

UPDATE 2: Confirmed by Google.
