ie7

Google IE 7 has been through too much trouble since I post about it on this blog, over at Google Blogoscoped, and then it spread across the blogosphere. Nothing wrong with the Google IE 7, but the design of the promotion page “looked remarkably similar to a Yahoo! IE7 promo page“[Matt Cutts].

It’s not a template from Microsoft, as I can tell - the two pages have different HTML codes, Google’s page is TABLE heavy and Yahoo! uses DIV. After being reported on Yahoo employee Jeremy Zawodny’s blog, Google updated its page and make it look less like Yahoo’s, and Matt Cutts later apologized on his personal blog, hmm, kind of.

This is a war of originality, as how Danny Sullivan calls it.
