Doodle: Canada Day
Doodle July 1st, 2007 - By HaochiGoogle Canada today celebrates Canada Day, “a [Canada] federal holiday celebrated on July 1, annually, by all provincial governments and most businesses across the country.” [Wikipedia]
Later on that Wikipedia entry, it notes that “under the federal Holidays Act, Canada Day is always observed on July 1 unless that date falls on a Sunday, in which case it is officially observed on July 2.”
Isn’t today Sunday?
UPDATE: Daniel says in the comment: “The actual Canada Day celebrations are always happening on July 1st. But a lot of people will have Monday July 2nd off this year (2007); so banks, government offices, a lot of stores and businesses will all be closed on July 2nd since July 1st is on a Sunday.” Thanks Daniel!
