Earth/Maps: Another Large Imagery Update
Google October 3rd, 2006 - By HaochiGoogle Earth and Maps had a imagery update last month, and now they are having another one! :D Here’s what they updated:
- The whole state of Minnesota, South Carolina, North Dakota, Missouri (updated to 2005), Idaho, Maryland, and now full coverage for the entire state of TexasUpdates to Florida (most of the state covered now)
- 15 high-resolution cities in Germany
- Update for London, 2006 data at 10cm from Bluesky
- South Georgia Island (courtesy of the British Antarctic Survey)
- Albany, OR; Lubbock, TX; Port Townsend, WA; Portage County, OH; Trumball County, OH
- 32 Digital Globe Citisphere cities (updates and new coverage)
In addition there was a significant update to the regular Digital Globe imagery all over the world.
UPDATE: Razvan Antonescu(thanks!) commented below: “Romania got the main roads listed for the first time”. Well, this is not satellite images.

Romania got the main roads listed for the first time

More East European countries got some road listed for the first time.
I’ve found detailed satellite images over main cities of Romania, like Constanta or Cluj Napoca.
Funny thing: Ploiesti, another Romanian city got his detailed view wrong: the city is in the left of the detailed image :)

The update of the “roads map” was the 09/26 ;) You can see that they added roads to saint petersburg :)

Bacau,
I can’t find any hi-resolution image for Ploiesti, Romania, or its nearby cities.

If you look at your link Chen, You’ll see the arrow pointing to the city. The city itself is low resolution, but on the right side of the city there is some industrial structure in high resolution. So it could be true that they missed the city :)
