Gapminder

Google announced that they have acquired the Trendalyzer software from Gapminder, “a non-profit venture for development and provision of free software that visualise human development”. And Trendalyzer, “generates moving graphics and other novel effects in the display of facts, figures, and statistics in presentations”, which powers the Gapminder World, 2006 that has been on Google’s server for a year and updates consistently.

“Trendalyzer’s developers have left Gapminder to join Google in Mountain View, where Google intends to improve and scale up Trendalyzer, and make it freely available to those who seek access to statistics.” the Gapminder Blog said.

Pretty cool.
