Google Moon Updates
Google September 13th, 2007 - By HaochiGoogle just released a new version of Google Moon, which updated with “higher-resolution map imagery, text search, and photos and stories from every Apollo landing.”
In other news, Google is now sponsoring a contest called the Google Lunar X Prize for “entrepreneurs, engineers and visionaries from around the world” to “compete to land a privately funeded robotic rover on the Moon that is capable of completing several mission objectives.” Frank Taylor over at GEarth Blog has more on this. It seems like Google Moon is no longer made of cheese like it used to be. :(

I wonder if the Chinese will use Google Moon to plan their rover landings… it would save them a helluva lotta money.
