So THAT’S what the guy the Onion reported about did! :p
Funny. Thanks for posting this. Like the others have said, I wish it didn’t have the laugh track. That’s one of the worst, most obnoxious laugh tracks I’ve heard in a while.
It isn’t a laugh track it’s a live studio audience. Classic program. Check out the anti video piracy advert as well. The first 5 shows of series 2 have been great.
From the Wikipedia article: Series two was recorded in front of a live audience at Pinewood Studios, and had originally been intended to consist of eight episodes.[6] A third series has not been officially confirmed, however Linehan has said he now feels “ready to start sorting through my notes for series 3.”
Dunno if that means they recorded laughter or the whole thing.
It IS recorded in front of a live audience. During the show, you sometimes notice, how the actors wait to go on with their speech, until the laughter has calmed down — just like you could observe in Friends…
People do fall for it, I tried it on a workmate and she completely fell for it. The whole team is in on the joke and she still has no idea, to the point that she is warning others about doing it!!

It’s not a live audience nor a laugh track. They record it fully then play it to people, and record the laughs.
That could be an audience, I suppose, but it’s not filmed before a live studio audience.

Before a comedy show they record different laughter so they can add it where it is needed.
