Layoff at Google
Googleplex, Trivia April 8th, 2008 - By Haochi
OMG, it’s Google, run!
Last month, Googler (Noogler?) Yew Jin blogged about the “layoff” at Google - well not really a layoff, but it feels like it (”the [layoff] atmosphere in Google”). As far as I know, nobody got lay off, but it’s certain that a number of notable people have left Google recently, including CIO Douglas Merrill, who left to become president of music company EMI, and Blogger’s product manager Eric Case, who left because “it’s time to move on” after 5 years at Google. Even Josef Desimone, the executive chef left Google for Facebook, now how do you suppose the atmosphere be like when the foods don’t taste the same.
Oh, Gmail is hiring.

positive thinking. they left so there is an available space for other great people come to enjoy great working atmosphere at Google. to those who left because they would bring great experience to share with the new places.
isn’t that a good news?

Well,
It is known fact that when the ship is sinking, the rats are vail out first. Is google sinking, unfortunately yes. It is not immediate but slowly coming. Why, too many dead weighs not enough contributors. No new great ideas. Also Great minds have been leaving the company to setup their owns’…
Well well well

Nobody got laid off? Tell that to the DoubleClick friends of mine who were forced to sign on-competes, then let go. What bullshit it is for Google employees to go around lying about there being “no layoffs”. Gimme a goddamn break.
