New iGoogle Themes
IG November 6th, 2007 - By HaochiGoogle today added a few more themes to iGoogle, Google’s customizable homepage. The new themes are Aja Tiger, Autumn, Hong Kong, JR, and Solar System. You can change to one of these new themes by clicking “Select theme”.
I have problem with using iGoogle (and other personalized homepages) productively, can anyone explain to me how you use it? My home page is set to Gmail, then I will open a new tab from a bookmark to Google Reader, which normally has 100+ unread items. Or perhaps, it just doesn’t suit me.

I use the personlized home as a portal. From it I open my gmail, reader, and sometimes calendar in new tabs. I dont use bookmarks. I like having a snapshot right away. Sometimes I dont need to open any other gmail or reader. I also like adding some gadgets such as the google docs, which shows me if someone updated a doc that I am sharing, and having the google portfolio summary show me how the markets did today. It brings all that info together for me.

The only thing I use it for is for hard-to-find comic strips. I have the Sunday Foxtrot and Non-sequitur. My local comics don’t have those anymore. I used to have the Farside a day, but the person who was running that stopped for a week and then started posting non-Farside ones. Needless to say, it is gone now.
I also got Gmail 2.0 today. I was somewhat disappointed. The only changes I could find was in the contact section, a section I do not use.
