New YouTube Player
YouTube April 30th, 2008 - By HaochiYouTube is now testing a new video player on its site right now. I think the new player looks cleaner, but it removed the “go back” button - which is quite useful in my opinion. If you want to try out the new player, just click on the
link below the player and you can always go back to the old player if you don’t like the new one.
UPDATE: You can use keyboard shortcuts in this new player.

shortcuts!!! YAY!!!!
but.. how many shortcuts are?
I only seem to find one: spacebar for pause/play
But it doesn’t work in fullscreen mode (pity) and I also miss the “F” key for entering fullscreen.

I hate players with a popup style volume control. Good luck getting it to work correctly 100% of the time.

Can anyone tell me why Youtube won’t let me play videos using the old player — the one with the Replay function. If I want to play videos, I have to use the new player.

The volume control is a bit buggy and the progress bar slides when you select it, making it harder to find a specific part in the video.

I uber-loved the old player since they previously had the stop button if yo wanted to load the video first…
also, now it’s so hard to navigate in the status bar…
I hope this change is not permanent…
