Garett Rogers pointed out ( blogs.zdnet.com/Google/?p=814 ) that you can’t move businesses but you could move that address. Meaning there is a Pizza Hut at 3451 W Devon Ave, Chicago, IL 60659. Search for Pizza Hut in 60659 and you will get the store in middle of the street. But if you search for 3451 W Devon Ave, Chicago, IL 60659, you will get the store itself, where it was moved.
That explains why you can’t move the White House but you could move Google. When I searched for the white House – I just typed in White House as a business. If you type in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington DC you will be able to move that location. (It has been moved already.) Search for the White House and it is it’s original place. When I searched for Google I typed in 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway. That you could move since it’s an address not a business.
Good catch Garett!
